"No God is worthy of worship except Allah"
Islam( الإسلام) is a monotheistic religion articulated by the Qur'an, the words of Allah ( الله ), and by the teachings and normative example, called the Sunnah and composed of Hadith, of Muhammad (peace be upon him), the last prophet of Allah. An adherent of Islam is called a Muslim.
Allah is one and incomparable and the purpose of existence is to love and serve Him. Islam is the complete and universal version of a primordial faith that was revealed at many times and places before, including through the famous prophets Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus), peace be upon them. Previous messages and revelations have been partially changed or corrupted over time, but the Qur'an is both the unaltered and the final revelation of Allah to the seal of prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him). Religious practices include the five pillars of Islam, which are basic concepts and obligatory acts of worship, the six important beliefs and following Islamic law, which touches on virtually every aspect of life and society, providing guidance on multifarious topics from banking and welfare, to warfare and the environment.

Who is Allah?
Islam's most fundamental concept is monotheism, called Tawhīd ( توحيد). Allah is described in the Holy Qur'an as:
"Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like Him." (112:1-4). Allah is beyond all comprehension, and nobody is expected to visualize Allah. He is described and referred to by certain names or attributes, the most common being.
Al-Rahmān, meaning "The Compassionate" and Al-Rahīm, meaning "The Merciful".
The creation of everything in the universe is brought into being by Allah’s sheer command “‘Be’ and so it is.” and that the purpose of existence is to love and serve God. He responds whenever a person in need or distress calls him. There are no intermediaries, such as clergy, to contact Allah, who states "We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein".
